About Calista Kirk
Calista Kirk (she/her/hers) is a part of Chapman University’s Class of 2023. At 19 years of age, she is pursuing her Bachelor of Arts in broadcast journalism and documentary production at Dodge College of Film and Media Arts with a minor in law, justice, and social control.
Calista has directed a selection of documentary films that range from social issue pieces to comedic profiles. Currently, she is a broadcast director/producer for live streams of city council meetings in the city of Orange, CA. She also works part-time as a TD/director for the Chapman Athletic Program's live broadcasts of games. In the past, she was a student assistant and collaborator for the Thompson Policy Institute on Disability’s Transition CA Initiative. Formerly, Calista was the host and writer of the Carrying the Banner Podcast, where she analyzed musicals and their potential to be used as educational resources. She was also a co-producer and co-editor for The Wretched Hive podcast and The Electoral College Podcast from 2018-2019. She is a fan of hiking, rollerskating, poetry, and theatre.
